LOCAL SALES ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

KFFX FOX 11 in the Tri-Cities is hiring an experienced Local Sales Account Executive. This position is responsible for selling commercial time on KFFX, and the newly launched Telemundo station in the market. In addition, the candidate will sell Internet advertising on our websites. Responsibilities include sales, avail preparation, client meetings, accurate order completion, ratings and research interpretation and proposals. 

Basic understanding of ratings, television software programs such as Media Office/One Domain and Wide Orbit, as well as bilingual/bi-literate in Spanish a plus.

General Summary of Duties

This position is responsible for selling commercial time on KFFX-TV and Telemundo, and Internet advertising on our websites, from our Tri-Cities, WA, office. Manage FCC political file and hard copy files for television

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or equivalent; College education or 2 years relevant experience preferred

This position requires expert knowledge of the overall television station from a technical standpoint.  Responsibilities include the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of the following: AVID INEWS newsroom automation systems, NLE editing systems, graphics systems, master control automation, video switchers, video routers, various tape recorder formats, ENG camera repair, high and low power transmitters, camera control system, camera robotics, audio mixers, broadcaster computer networks, Cisco LAN switches, and a good IT networking understanding.  This position requires a thorough understanding of digital and analog systems within a television station and industry standards.  Applicants must have experience in the set-up and networking of computers and a solid understanding of computer OS applications, FTP applications and digital video formats.  

Qualified applicants will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in TV engineering which must include a strong IT background.  A college degree with an emphasis in Broadcast or IT is a plus.  Applicant must also have a valid Washington State driver’s license. 

You must have the ability to lift 50 plus pounds, work in confined areas and have the willingness to work all shifts including holidays, as needed.  Must work well independently as well as in a team environment.

SUMMARY: The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining core accounting standards for the business in partnership with the Director of Business Operations. This position must maintain external partnerships, partner with all key department personnel, maintain financial standards, perform financial research, and facilitate transactions to maintain appropriate financial records.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Verify the accuracy of the general ledger by investigating variances, identifying and resolving issues, and ensuring all transactions, including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and journal entries, are accounted for in accordance GAAP.
• Conduct analytical review of revenues, commissions and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis
• Act as key partner in managing capital assets
• Perform daily traffic log reconciliation in partnership with other station personnel
• Act as key liaison with shared services centers as needed to problem solve issues, implement process changes, and other situations as they develop
• Prepare and/or review monthly account reconciliations and report on findings including managing updates as needed
• Assist the Director of Business Operations with month-end and year-end close procedures
• Assist and support station leadership with the budget and forecast processes
• Assist with payroll analysis
• Summarize and report financial data by use of adhoc reporting and other financial applications
• Review invoice coding to ensure consistent and accurate usage, including notifying the Director of Business Operations of errors and inconsistencies
• Develop and maintain key partnerships with each local department and with corporate counterparts
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university in Accounting, Finance or related field
  preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Must be highly detailed and organized.
• Intermediate to advanced skill set in Excel preferred.
• High proficiency in Oracle is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills required.

Schedule:         Ability to work established schedule and other hours as needed

Status:              Full Time, Salaried

Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED required.  College degree preferred.

One or more years of fast paced, accurate data entry skills (alpha and numeric) in a clerical or sales setting highly preferred

Previous broadcast or traffic experience helpful, experience with Marketron extremely beneficial

Must be able to manage a high volume of information accurately and efficiently with minimal mistakes

Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated perseverance and ability to get along with a broad range of personalities

Ability to work in compliance with strict company policies and procedures

Ability to function and add value in a team environment with the ability to multi task

Duties:

Responsible for assisting the traffic department with emphasis on continuity

Perform all radio continuity duties

Coordinating and preparing all copy (advertising and network), assign copy to schedules and affidavits.  Preparing and submitting weekly affidavits.

Generate missing copy reports daily

This position reports directly to the market controller.

Schedule: 8:30am-5:30pm

Other duties as needed
