KSPS seeks a responsible individual for the part time broadcast operation duties including, recording, ingesting and dubbing of all on-air program and promotional content for four on air program streams and five cable channels originating from the KSPS Operation Center. Positions in this class operate and monitor television master control related equipment including, computer automation, asset management and traffic systems, television broadcast transmitter, video/audio switchers, videotape machines, EAS equipment and satellite receive equipment. This position is also responsible for the creation of the Daily Program Log for the KSPS Create Channel under the direction of the Traffic/Asset Manager.  The part time MCO is considered the primary fill-in operator and thus, will be expected to fill in whenever needed. Work must conform to Federal Communications Commission Rules and Regulations.

 What you’ll do:

·         Develop assigned stories from news leads

·         Report, write, capture visual content, edit and produce stories for multiple platforms on deadline

·         Publish content and generate story ideas through social media sites like Facebook and Twitter

·         Assist news producer in preparing newscast

·         Assist online staff in preparing for multi-media stories

 What you’ll bring:

·         4 year degree or equivalent work experience; Journalism degree preferred

·         Knowledge of broadcast quality camera equipment

·         Ability to edit video on Avid editing systems, or similar equipment

·         Possess strong broadcast and AP style writing skills

·         Proficient at posting content to various websites

·         Must demonstrate strong news judgment and organizational skills

·         Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

·         2+ years’ experience as a Multi-Media Journalist preferred
